Why I'm RUNNING

Dear Members of the Gunnison Watershed School District Community,

As a parent with two children attending the public schools in Gunnison, I have a vested interest in the success of our schools. With 30 years of finance and accounting experience in leadership roles, ranging from start-ups to multi-billion-dollar public corporations, I bring a solution-oriented perspective to our community and school district. As an active community member, I am deeply committed to the success of our students.

Drawing upon my financial education and experience, I am equipped to make data-driven decisions that prioritize the needs of our students and school staff. I understand the importance of spending limited funds wisely, efficient resource allocation, and strategic planning. I will advocate for fair compensation, professional development, and a positive environment to support our dedicated educators.

At the core of my candidacy is a focus on student achievement, personalized learning, and fostering a positive student environment where all students can maximize their success. I am dedicated to ensuring that all students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. As a pragmatic experienced leader, I will strive to improve student outcomes.

I support the freedom of knowledge. I believe in creating an environment that encourages problem solving, creativity, and open-mindedness. Our schools should be a safe space for students to explore ideas, engage in constructive dialogue, and expand their intellectual horizons. By endorsing the power in knowledge, we can prepare our students to become informed and responsible citizens in a fast-evolving world.
